About Us
East Carolina Junior Volleyball Club, Inc. (ECJVC) is a non-profit, membership organization made-up of female athletes ages 11-18. We are organized and run by a team of knowledgeable, hard-working coaches and dedicated parents and we are directly affiliated with the Junior Olympic Volleyball Program, the national youth division of USA Volleyball (USAV).
USAV is the governing body of sport volleyball in the United States and is recognized as such by both the Federation International de Volleyball (FIDV) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). From beginner-level volleyball competition through Olympic competition, it is USAV who establishes and upholds the rules and regulations of the sport.
The ECJVC staff work exceptionally hard to develop our student-athletes' leadership skills, competitive attitude, and a desire to achieve their highest goals. Our parents provide the emotional, physical, and financial support needed to keep ECJVC a competitive and successful league. Parents make up our Board of Directors, which is solely responsible for the financial and organizational administration of ECJVC.
We facilitate the development of volleyball knowledge and skills in all of our junior volleyball players by providing a variety of resources and opportunities for improvement. Resources offered by ECJVC include, but are not limited to:
- Specialized skills, strength, and conditioning clinics
- Top-of-the-line practice facilities
- Quality coaching by knowledgeable staff
- Challenging interregional competition
- National competition
Our program supports and enhances the volleyball programs available in local schools, instilling values of team play, individual discipline, and work habits which will serve junior volleyball players well both on and off the court. Financial assistance may be provided to athletes in need. Financial awards are based on a variety of factors including financial need, volleyball acumen, and academic achievement.
